I reported workplace misconduct, can my employer fire me?

If you reported workplace misconduct in Washington State, your employer generally cannot fire you in retaliation for making the report. Both federal and state laws provide protection for employees who report illegal or unethical behavior. Employers are not allowed to retaliate against employees because they reported illegal behavior, such as harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment, etc.
