Can I sue for wrongful termination?
In Washington State, employees may have grounds to sue for wrongful termination under certain circumstances. While many employers refer to Washington State being at “at-will state,” which means they can terminate an individual’s employment for any reason, or no reason, the reason cannot be an illegal one. Exceptions to “at-will” employment may include discrimination, retaliation, violation of public policy, or breach of contract, among others.
Should you have any questions about your rights as an employee who is on or has experienced wrongful termination, please contact our office to speak with an attorney.
